In 2017, I co-founded the London SynBio Network (LSN). From 2020-23, I served on the BBSRC’s People and Talent Strategic Advisory Panel’s researcher subgroup. Since 2023, I have been a member of the iGEM (International Genetic Engineering Machine) Engineering Committee.

London Synbio Network (LSN)

In 2017, I co-founded the London SynBio Network (LSN) with colleagues at UCL, and coordinated the team until 2023.

LSN is a community that enables early career researchers from across London’s institutes to meet and discuss their research informally: addressing the gap between closed-door departmental talks and over formal international conferences, since 2017, the venue has allowed early career researchers to develop their communication skills and network across institutes and sectors in the synthetic biology field. Between 2017 and 2023, we hosted over thirty events, including special events themed around COVID research and showcasing student entries to the iGEM competition. Our events have been generously supported by the synthetic biology community at UCL, Evonetix and the Biochemical Society.
